Anything worth doing once, is worth doing again, right???

Awww fuckity fuck fuck. Need to vent.

I was having a Kerouac moment, and I was writing my whole book in one stroke. Whatever made me never think to not press "CTRL + S" is beyond me.

Laughing out loud: Month of hell is over Laughing out loud:

I'd be happier if I had the strength to stand upright. For the last month I've been waking up, working and going to bed, without break, 7 days a week. It all ended about 90 minutes ago! I get my life back... more or less. So I just wanted to give a shout out to my IshThink peeps and let you know that I'll be around a little more starting next week. It's gonna take me forever to catch up. If people will let me, I might even post a blog thingie.

Inspiring Manifesto

| |

This morning Dominic Ebacher posted this at the Wisconsin Ishmael Readers Group. I highly recommend checking out his Manifesto. I thought it was well done. It sounds to me like he is asking for a little support from people who understand.

Take care,

Curt

Here is Dominic's post:

Hello everyone here - especially curt. I've never posted to the group before, but have responded to many of the individual posts. I just wanted you all to know that I've finally done it: and that for the first time in my life I am taking solid steps to leave taker culture and just walk away. I just earned my degree a few weeks ago, and starting in March I begin my transition to a simpler life. I couldn't think of too many people that would be excited, so I thought I'd post here; thinking maybe someone would find my thoughts or experiences even a little bit encouraging.

I wrote up the bulk of my thoughts on my homepage here:

I would be honored if you, my fellow aspirants towards a more simple way of life would read these few words of mine, and if possible leave me some words of encouragement of your own as I set off into my new life (as so many in my life are desserting me, now that I am not conforming to the taker lifestyle as they hoped I would). It really would mean a lot to me.

Homeschooler Writes Amazing Ish Essay

| | | |

Hey all,

17 year old Cassia Scarborough wrote this to "turn it in to my homeschool advisor who may or may give it to his fellow teachers who may or may not be interested in using Ishmael as a reading text in their classes next semester.  He needed an essay written by a student from his class so i volunteered because I think that the more people who read Ishmael the better, although I'm doubtful whether or not they'll really learn anything from the book if they are forced to read it for their school or whatever.  But everything helps."

Personally, I think it is a really amazing essay.
