From the Jungle to the Prairie: An Attempt of Sustainablity

Cradle to Cradle | Meadowlark | Sustainabiliy | Tribal Business | Lincoln | NE | NebraskaSo I thought it would be cool to show you some of the things we do at Meadowlark to be more sustainable. One of the major things we do is try to keep things out of the land fill. One of the ways we accomplish this is by donating our grounds to the city parks and recreation compost pile and the community gardens compost pile.
A thought to consider

Roughly quoted
:
People always approach me "Hey, Mr. Sustainability... How do you think a sustainable future would be?" and I reply, and this really throws them, "I'm not really for sustainability, i think it would be boring!" to which they respond in any mannor of puzzlement. "Think about it, if i asked you how your vision for a future relationship with your wife would look, would you be happy to respond bluntly 'sustainable'?" And that really says it right there. Sustainability means 'the ability to keep going on as it is forever' or something there abouts. Would you be happy just chugging along, doing the same old thing... just keeping it going? I know i wouldn't. No, i favor fecundity. I have a vision of a future blossoming with life, where human development doesn't just have zero net damage, but rather contributes to the flourishing of the planet's ecosystems... now that's a vision that you can be excited about!"
